Preserving the music culture of the midwest
Hey, I'm Neil! For more than a decade, I have made my living as a working musician based out of St. Louis, Missouri.
I cut my teeth in the bars, clubs, and wine haunts of South City before gaining national recognition through my original roots-rock band The Mighty Pines and a celebrated run on NBC's The Voice.
My music blends elements of Americana, soul, bluegrass, rock & roll, and folk traditions while remaining deeply connected to the city and Midwest culture that shaped me.
I’m a proud believer that the best music scenes aren’t just in Nashville, New York City, or Los Angeles.
I grew up in St. Louis watching incredible musicians pour everything they had into this city's venues and neighborhood stages.
Over the years, I've watched some of them leave in search of bigger opportunities. I've even thought about doing the same. But there's something about my roots that keeps pulling me back.
This is why I'm here. I believe local music scenes matter. It's where communities gather and culture is created. It's where people start showing up for one another.
Everything I do—whether it's performing with The Mighty Pines, collaborating with fellow artists, or telling the stories behind the songs—is part of this mission.
If you believe local music is worth protecting, I'd love to have you along for the ride!

MUSIC
As long as I can remember, music has been the thread connecting nearly every part of my life.
With my band, The Mighty Pines, I've spent years writing original music, touring, and building community through the language of music.
Along the way, I've also had the privilege of performing and creating with Playadors, Voodoo Players, and many other talented musicians throughout St. Louis and beyond. I've been fortunate to be part of an incredibly rich musical community.
All of my projects represent an ongoing love affair with music in all its forms—bluegrass, soul, rock & roll, pop, folk, and Americana.

"Meet Me In Music" is a podcast dedicated to the stories behind the songs and to the people behind the performances.
Through conversations with musicians, songwriters, artists, and industry movers, I explore the paths that lead us to music, the communities that shape us, and the places we call home.
Many of these conversations begin in St. Louis, but they often lead somewhere bigger: into questions of creativity, identity, culture, history, and what it means to build a meaningful life through art.
Because every musician has a story. And our Midwest scene has a history worth preserving.
